Nokia

An interactive game about DEI and wellbeing, created for Nokia. Art direction and visuals. Stock assets were used in order to save time and budget, but were often heavily modified in order to fit the Nokia brand, as well as the course’s themes and scenes.

When creating the different characters, I used their personalities as springboards for what they should look like. From color combinations (using the Nokia palette), to symbols, number of antennas, height and poses, each character’s traits were reflected in their looks.

 I created a multitude of poses, expressions, and little emoticons to be used in each scene, so that the learners could understand what each character was thinking and feeling in the moment.

When doing the layouts, there were often a lot of assets to take into consideration and showcase. Here, the learner is supposed to drag and drop rocks of different sizes to whoever seems like they have enough energy to carry the weight. To convey these things visually without any help of text (only voice over) was a challenge.

 The project was a success; Nokia was very happy with the end result, and learners commented that they particularly enjoyed the story, as well as the unique approach to an e-learning like this.
